Smithsonian Exec. Search to Begin Amid Questions

Smithsonian Exec. Search to Begin Amid Questions: "Members of the Smithsonian Institution board of regents formed a search committee Monday to help find the 12th secretary to lead the museum complex, even as they continue to examine the board's oversight after a spending scandal forced the last secretary out.

The board's discussions about possible changes in its structure and governance after the resignation of Lawrence Small in March were not expected to stifle the search for a new secretary, said search committee chairman Alan Spoon, a Washington businessman and former president of The Washington Post Co."
