United Way to expect results for giving cash: "Aiming to attack social problems in new and more useful ways, the United Way for Southeastern Michigan is moving toward a June deadline for redefining the way it hands out money to nonprofit service agencies.
For many years, the United Way, which raises money through its annual fall payroll campaign and other ways, has supported about 130 nonprofit agencies based on their perceived needs."
