Golf: Charity plans to unite golfers around the country | The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram: Golf 9/12, a series of tournaments around the country to remember the attack on Sept. 11 and the unity the country felt on Sept. 12, 2001, will be coming to Sable Oaks Golf Course in South Portland on Monday, with a potential field of 80 players.
Sable Oaks is one of approximately 32 courses nationwide holding tournaments. The cool aspect about the day is that players will be connected throughout the country via live mobile scoring. By using their mobile phone applications, golfers will enter their scores after each hole and find out how they rank with other golfers at other sites.
