Author, charity founder visits Prep | The Daily Journal | thedailyjournal.com: Austin founded 88bikes in 2006. The name was inspired by its first project, which brought bikes to 88 children in an orphanage in Cambodia.

For every $88 the organization gets, one bike is purchased. All bikes are purchased locally and labor for transportation and assembly also are exclusively local.
