Bloomberg.com: U.S.: "Spitzer May Urge More Insurance Oversight in Senate Testimony
Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer may tell a U.S. Senate subcommittee today that federal oversight of the insurance industry is inevitable after his allegations of price manipulation and kickbacks.
``You can argue that states have failed'' as insurance regulators, Spitzer said last week at a Practicing Law Institute seminar in New York, predicting an ``inevitable'' shift to federal regulation. ``Very serious problems have been picked up.'' "
