America should not focus on Sept. 11 legal battle - The Daily Campus - Commentary

America should not focus on Sept. 11 legal battle - The Daily Campus - Commentary: "It was surely with an optimistic state of mind that the Port Authority, the agency that owned the World Trade Center, filed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia in order to secure compensation for damages sustained as a result of the 9/11 attacks.

In addition, the Port Authority lost 84 of its employees, for which it is also seeking compensation. The total amount requested is $7 billion. If the agency receives the desired amount, they will be totally reimbursed for the damage suffered from the attacks. However, after calculating the damage to the World Trade Center and subtracting that amount from the $7 billion, there remains a meager sum. This remainder, it would seem, if divided by 84, must be the amount the agency calculated as the cost of a human life"
