Douglas County Bank

Douglas County Bank: "SIR HENRY Raeburn's Reverend Robert Walker skating on Duddingston Loch would shiver - and not because of the cold. For this weekend, the Scottish art world will be getting terribly excited about a man who painted a few tins of soup.
Granted, that man was Andy Warhol - and he will be the focus of a huge party on Saturday night which aims to attract the next generation of art lovers with deep pockets - but the atmosphere, promised to be one of 'high camp', is still a far cry from the traditional, somewhat fusty image of The National Galleries of Scotland.
The party is a special pilot event which will see 250 of the country's young movers and shakers crowd the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Invited guests include the actor Ewen Bremner and Prince William's former girlfriend Kate Middleton. The new Duke and Duchess of Argyll and Lord Matt Sinclair will also make up the numbers - Scottish bluebloods light-years from reaching their dotage. Should the event prove a success, then a pioneering membership scheme called 'The Associates' will be unveiled in May costing GBP 50 per year and directed at those in their twenties, thirties and forties.
