A profitable experience - NYPOST.com: Recognizing the need for students to become more involved in their communities, Adelphi University founded its Community Fellows Program three years ago. Sponsored by Adelphi alumni and external companies and foundations, through the program, a select group of students are placed in area nonprofit internships and paid $10 an hour for approximately 300 hours of the 10-week long program. Travel expenses aren’t included, although some organizations cover these costs for their interns.
