Digital Annual Reports Click With Donors - The NonProfit TimesThe NonProfit Times: "The trend of interactive, digital annual reports has been gaining steam since at least 2011, according to Scott Martin, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Hauppauge, N.Y.-headquartered design firm Curran and Connors. “It started with a PDF version and migrated to microsites,” said Martin. “There’s a trend of (reports) becoming more rich and robust because more content is going in. There’s a lot more you can do with the content.”"

Your annual report should be an offer no one can refuse Philanthropy North Carolina
Your annual report should be an offer no one can refuse Philanthropy North Carolina: n showcasing who you are, what you do and how you improve lives, your annual report can inspire people to support and be part of your work.
Yet instead of highlighting the crucial difference they make, nonprofits too often use their annual report simply to stroke themselves and their supporters.
In accentuating the positive, annual reports also tend to skirt or soft-pedal the often grim reality facing the people and places they serve.

Make Your Annual Report Sing: 5 Ways to Choose and Use Stories | Nonprofit Marketing | Getting Attention
Make Your Annual Report Sing: 5 Ways to Choose and Use Stories | Nonprofit Marketing | Getting Attention: Whether told through gestures, symbols or spoken words, carvings on a cave wall or YouTube videos, we humans have used stories as a communications strategy for thousands of years. It’s intuitive in many respects to tell a story.
Yet stories aren’t necessarily the first thing nonprofits think of when it comes to putting together an annual report. You have financials and organizational milestones to report; funders to update; donors to recognize. What will grab your readers, though, are the stories, about real people and their challenges, discoveries, resilience and change.

Acronym: Would your annual report ever sound like this?
Acronym: Would your annual report ever sound like this?: The nature of the report isn't exactly parallel to an association annual report, but I couldn't help but compare them. The truth, though, is they don't really compare at all. The association annual reports I've seen have typically been positive, light on genuine analysis, and rather dull. Anything but brutally frank.
This disparity could be a byproduct of vague missions and goals. Clearly, eradicating polio is a "big, hairy audacious goal." Bigger goal equals more room for failure, which an honest report will identify. But a vague goal, like "advancing the industry," means there's more room to be just as vague in assessing results.
