"In addition to financial support, we believe Spring It On helped to educate local citizens about the tremendous contributions made by the nonprofit community every day. Ultimately it worked - the Buffalo Niagara region truly demonstrated its generous spirit."

The number of tangential education-related nonprofits that claim that they will substantively change educational outcomes for kids is staggering. Many are doing good things for kids, but they don’t have meaningful, measurable impact and are diverting philanthropic dollars from organizations and interventions that have true impact.

The suit says the foundation sent Roddick two $50,000 checks before the September event. Both allegedly bounced.

If the filing is accurate, Roddick agreed to perform a service for a specific amount of money, then performed the service and received no money. That's simple breach of contract.
