In the operatic world there have been almost as many casualties as a performance of 'Tosca.' On Thursday, the Connecticut Opera announced it was going out of business after 67 seasons. Opera Pacific -- gone after four decades.
The Metropolitan has slashed four productions from the 2009-10 season. The Baltimore Opera has declared bankruptcy. Others are undergoing layoffs."
