WKZO NEWS: The 'Ying-Yang' of Charitable Giving in Kalamazoo: "KALAMAZOO - The Greater Kalamazoo United Way has delivered some less-than-great news to the 60 programs that depend on the organization's annual funding.
Donations were down by $1 million this year, and after extensive work by citizen allocation committees, most of the groups are getting less money, some more than others. The average cut was 16.7%.
'Overall, the volunteers really struggled with trying to make sure the needs of the community were met,' according to GKUW spokesman Chris Riker."
