Nonprofit news roundup, 11.08.13 � Philanthropy North Carolina: The top 1,000 foundations tracked by the Foundation Center made over 145,000 grants totaling nearly $21.2 billion throughout the U.S. in 2011, including 3,153 grants totaling $521 million in North Carolina, or 2 percent of those foundations’ U.S. grants and grant dollars, according to Foundation Stats, a new online tool from the Foundation Center.
