"Such donations include everything from real estate to automobiles, and art to furniture, notes Walter Sczudlo, the executive vice-president and general counsel for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
'These kinds of donations are very much an important resource for the charitable sector that have been going on ever since there have been charities,' continues Sczudlo, who adds that the earliest and most typical non-cash donations to charity, especially during the Great Depression, centered around food and clothing."
