Giving important in bad times | MiamiHerald.com: "Compared to last year, in which people of all ages and financial levels donated record charitable contributions totaling more than $300 billion, charitable giving, and particularly corporate contributions, has slowed with the downturn in the economy.
With corporate budgets tightening and subsequently charitable contributions lessening, philanthropic organizations are relying on individual giving more than ever. On average, three of four donated dollars come from individuals, with the remainder coming from corporations, foundations and charitable bequests, according to the Giving USA Foundation."
