How to Turn Every Corporate Member into a Philanthropist - Forbes: For years, corporate philanthropy, the commitment of corporations to the causes of humanity, was the province of corporate founders and business leaders. In recent years, some corporations have taken initiatives to get their employees involved in philanthropy. Under Corporate Philanthropy 1-1-1, Salesfoce.com (NYSE:CRM), for instance, contributes 1 percent of the company profits to the local community in the form of product donations; 1 percent of the company equity to community programs; and 1 percent of the employee working hours to community service. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) have similar plans.
