Dealing with a weak dollar: Dollar's decline also affects the church's global work: "Some may say donors should “dig deeper,” but Malpica Padilla doesn’t believe that’s realistic. “It’s not as easy as saying ‘Give more,’ ” he explained. “We are a generous church. As a country, philanthropy is a big thing here. As we see with many emerging worthy causes, there is a flat pool or source of funding within or outside the church, so you have a lot of people competing for money. Outside [Microsoft chairman] Bill Gates, we’re essentially recycling the same dollars—moving it from here to there to there.”"
