Philanthropy not just for the rich - Opinion
Philanthropy not just for the rich - Opinion: "One of the newest (and hippest) ways to become a philanthropist is through microfinance organizations like Kiva (kiva.org). This program lets viewers browse through projects set up by entrepreneurs in developing countries, which require small loans to get off the ground. Once users find a venture they like, they can lend a sum of money (large or small) to the entrepreneur until their desired loan amount is achieved. Eventually, the loan is paid back and the money is returned via PayPal. It can then be taken back or sent out to a new project."
