Record $17.6 Million in Grants Boosted Shubert Giving in 2009 - Bloomberg.com: "For the 30th straight year, the Shubert Foundation increased funding of not-for-profit companies such as New York’s Public Theater, which produced the “Hair” revival. Funding during the fiscal year ending May 31 was $17.59 million, up 4 percent from $16.93 million the previous year.
The bump comes at a time when many nonprofits are losing donations because of the weakened economy. The majority of recipients are theater and dance companies. Shubert also supports community service organizations."
