The new benchmark for philanthropic gifts by billionaires in the US seems to be $100m.
That sum has been pledged by Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook for Newark schools, and it has been matched by Henry Kravis of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts in his donation to Columbia University."
