Late schoolteacher bequeaths thousands to local nonprofits - Leader-Telegram: Front Page

Late schoolteacher bequeaths thousands to local nonprofits - Leader-Telegram: Front Page: Valentine's Day perfectly symbolizes how much Betty Rogstad loved Eau Claire.

Rogstad, who died Aug. 10 at age 74, has bequeathed a combined total of $825,000 to 10 local nonprofit groups and her college alma mater, and that doesn't surprise those who knew the career teacher.

Rogstad was a kindergarten teacher from 1959 to 1995 at Longfellow Elementary. Al Lechleitner was principal there during her last nine years.
