MinnPost - When gifts to nonprofits come with strings attached: "Last year, a donor offered Simpson Housing Services a $10,000 gift to create an endowment to help recently homeless families get beds, bedding and other basics for their apartments.
It seems like a no-brainer: Take the money and start helping people who desperately need help.
Turns out, it’s not that simple."

Apparently Simpson Housing Services is not strong in development. If the organization does not have the policies or the infrastructure to handle such a gift, finding an organization to assist the donor could foster additional support in the future. Building donor relations presents the opportunity for larger structured gifts. When structured properly, such gifts can have a major and long term impact which appeals to the donor and truly assists the charity in its mission.
