Like a gentle summer rain, more federal stimulus money is sprinkling down on Michigan arts-and-culture nonprofits badly parched by the economic crisis.
The state-run Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs announced Friday it's distributing $345,000 in federal money to 30 groups across the state, all intended to preserve jobs in the hard-hit cultural sector. Like recent direct grants to Michigan organizations from the National Endowment for the Arts, the money comes from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act that Congress passed this spring -- better known as the 'stimulus bill.'"
