Struggling Saint Paul's College gets two major gifts | Richmond Times-Dispatch: With the gift of a $500,000 challenge grant, Saint Paul's College has launched an effort to raise $5 million by the end of June to ensure the survival of the historically black school in Lawrenceville.
Without the grant from philanthropist Jane Batten, "we probably wouldn't have a chance" of meeting the requirements necessary to retain accreditation, the college's new interim president, Eddie N. Moore Jr., said Monday after a luncheon in Richmond honoring Batten.
