In 1966, a small group led by Southern Methodist University women's dean Emmie Baine established the first Women's Symposium with the goal of educating women for political and social leadership.
Nearly four decades later, organizers are examining the past and looking to the future. This year's theme is 'Are We There Yet? 40 Years on the Road to Full Participation.' The three-day event, held in collaboration with the Dallas Women's Foundation, starts Monday"
