Emmett Carson, president and chief executive of the Minneapolis Foundation, has been tapped to lead the fledgling Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation during its first three months.
His appointment as a loaned chief executive officer was announced by Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco, who formed the foundation in the first week after Hurricane Katrina struck her state.
Carson will continue in his Minneapolis job part time. He also is chairman of the national Council on Foundations, has deep roots in the South and is an expert on black philanthropy."
