Selmer tragedy touches off investigations

A charity involved in a deadly car show in Selmer is under investigation by the state for failing to register to raise funds and has not filed required forms with the Internal Revenue Service, officials said.
The state Charitable Solicitations and Gaming Division is investigating the group Cars for Kids-Southern Style for failing to register and is asking the charity to stop asking on its Web site for donations to help accident victims, said Todd Kelley, the agency's director."
