'Not shy' about giving, but Toyota doesn't seek corporate naming rights - Crain's Detroit Business: "But Toyota's views on making philanthropic investments are another story. “We're believers in supporting good community causes, especially in the areas where we have a major presence,” McCandless said. In 2006, Toyota and the Toyota USA Foundation made local grants totaling $3.3 million, up from $2.8 million in 2005. The corporation supports most philanthropic programs and organizations, but Toyota USA Foundation primarily focuses its grants on math and science programs for K-12 students, McCandless said."
