Sunday marathon through Marin canceled due to lack of interest - Marin Independent Journal: "Citing a lack of entries, Marin County Marathon race director Mark Liebert canceled this Sunday's scheduled 26.2-mile race earlier this week. The companion events - a half-marathon, a 10-kilometer race and the kids race - will go off as scheduled from the start/finish at McNears Beach in San Rafael.
'It was a combination of matters, but mainly we didn't have enough participants, only 60 entries,' said Liebert, who had advertised the event on banners and busses througout Marin. 'Everyone working on the race is a volunteer. We give all proceeds to charity. It was just too much.'"
