Delta Democrat Times Online: Local News: "Mississippi turns a tidy nonprofit
State's largest charities and nonprofits spend more than Mississippi's general fund annually on community services
Mississippi has long been known as a very giving state. Our residents have opened their billfolds, pocketbooks and checkbooks to needy and worthwhile causes at a much higher rate than most of the nation's more affluent states.
