Giving money to charity is harder than it looks.

In 1987, when Lyman Casey ran his family's foundation, one of the oldest in California, others with private foundations would come to him for help and with questions about where to give. Casey saw a business opportunity helping families with their philanthropy.
Today, Pacific Foundation Services manages nine private foundations, "
