October 12, 2012 — A total of 301 Massachusetts nonprofits raised more than $1 million from 6,900 donors in 36 hours this week, one of the largest events in state history designed to raise funds simultaneously for multiple nonprofits.

Called The Giving Common Challenge, the fundraiser was organized by The Giving Common, a resource for nonprofits and potential donors launched earlier this year by The Boston Foundation (TBF).
