he 50-year-old charity Interfaith Neighbors, which provides after-school programs, counseling and other services to young people in Yorkville and East Harlem, has suspended its operations, its executive director said yesterday.
The agency was a victim of the fund-raising pressures that more and more small nonprofit groups are facing, said the director, Martha Dorn. 'We've been running a deficit, like many organizations do, but as we looked at our finances halfway through our fiscal year, it looked like the hole was getting bigger.'"
