How can children help children?
That is exactly what the students at Tara Heights Elementary School asked themselves after hearing about the tsunami that tore through Asia last month.
Their solution: a program called Coins for Compassion.
When the students returned to school after winter break, it was only natural to talk about the tsunami in Asia, said DeEtte Brasfield, Tara Heights principal. They talked about how children were affected and how compassion is one of the character traits stressed at Tara Heights Elementary. "
