A charity dinner involving the British Prime Minister's wife, Cherie Blair, is expected to raise a 'substantial six-figure sum' for the Starship Foundation, the event promoter said today.

However, Sydney-based Markson Sparks declined to comment on whether Mrs Blair would be paid a fee to speak at the gala dinner next Monday night.
'I'm afraid I cannot comment on that at all,' said Max Markson, who runs the publicity company.
'I'm contractually bound, unfortunately.'
After speaking in Auckland, Mrs Blair heads across the Tasman for a similar series of engagements on behalf of Children's Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA).
Her week-long visit to Australia has sparked an outcry in Britain, after claims that she could be paid fees totalling as much as 100,000 pounds ($NZ265,000). "
