CONCORD � Officials laid out a plan Monday to strengthen governance in the state's $12.5 billion nonprofit sector through a program of legal guidelines, training, consistency and continuing research.
'Clearly what's needed are high standards, effective oversight and transparency,' said Harold Janeway, chairman of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation board, at a news conference announcing results of work by the 21-member Excellence in Nonprofit Governance Committee. "
