WQED Multimedia is tightening its belt again.
'We're looking at everything we're doing at the station to save money and cut costs,' said George Miles, CEO of WQED, the nonprofit media group based in Pittsburgh. 'We're not hitting our goals in our fund-raising drive.'
Pittsburghers are concerned by the region's financial outlook, Miles said Friday, and that's making them reluctant to donate. Miles said that the company, parent of WQED-Channel 13, WQEX-Channel 16, WQED-89.3 FM and Pittsburgh magazine, missed its radio money-raising goal of $265,000 by $91,000. "
