A bill passed by the Senate would require businesses selling gift cards to consumers in Arizona to clearly disclose any expiration dates and fees for not using the cards within a specified time.
The Senate's 26-4 vote on Wednesday sent the bill (SB1299) to the House.
Supporters, including the Arizona Consumers Council and Attorney General Terry Goddard, say the bill would protect consumers by letting them know, before they buy cards, that such provisions can apply. advertisement"
